Topic: Four Chord Wonders

Someone here at Chordie (I think) said, and I paraphrase:
Jazz is hundreds (or thousands) of chords for three listeners.
Blues are three chords for hundreds (or thousands) of listeners.

But these guys do all right with only four chords. Funny but it demonstrates what can be accomplished with only a hand full of chords and a little imagination.

Judging by the number of views. there are idle hands a-plenty. Substitute a fingerboard (fretboard) for the keyboard, restore your sanity and make the world a better place.

A buddy of mine describes country music as "three chords and the truth".  But relative minors do sneak in for a fourth chord I suppose. 

[edit to add] Now that I think about it, I remember being in a guitar shop when they were discussing different kinds of 'rock'.  One of the guys said, "I hear about alternative rock.  I don't know what's alternative about it.  It sounds like the same four chords that have been used for a generation."
