Topic: Vintage V300

I have just written off my Ovation Applause. I am now looking for a new acoustic guitar that is not priced to high. I have seen the V300 brand new for £110.
One that has taken my notice is the Vintage V300 which looking at online reviews does pretty well.
It looks quite pleasing on the eye and I wondered if anybody who had first hand experience playing one of these could shed some light.

The music I enjoy playing is folk tunes.

Re: Vintage V300

Hiya
My son has a left handed Vintage Electro Acoustic and it's a very nice guitar. Very well made but as I'm right handed I can't say about the playing.
There is a good review of the V300MH in IGuitar on page 96

Hi Justin,

My thoughts echo CJ's. I hope it was not written off due to a PUI (Playing Under the Influence).

Re: Vintage V300

JustinG, I have an Ovation Applause. With the plastic back and laminate top, it is a good boat guitar. The moisture doesn't affect it as bad as wood. It is not very loud but at my age, I don't need a guitar drowning my voice out.
I also have a mid 70's Yamaha dreadnought acoustic. It plays like a dream since I had a good luthier set it up and it has a sound to die for.
You can hear it in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LU0-gj- … re=related
toots

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".
Ya'll wanna go down to the Guf?

Re: Vintage V300

I have never played a v but I have heard the are a good guitar. Your ovation is also a good one. As for a reasonably priced guitar I am with cj5,I have a yamaha that is tweny some odd years old and plays great ,it has been to the beach, camping in the rain and it is still ok. T hey seem to be built  well. Looks like toots has one also.
