Topic: HELP ME!!! IM A NEWBIE HERE!!!!

hi i just started teaching myself how to play guitar, i searched the chords to easy songs to play and need to know how to play Cadd9. the thing is i dont know the scale (i didnt bother trying to learn it cuz my grandpa said i didnt need to) nor do i know how to read music just tell me what fingers on what strings in which fretts.

Cadd9 is the same shape as a G chord.

Index finger on the 2nd fret 4th string

Middle finger on the 3rd fret 5th string

Ring finger on the 3rd fret 2nd string

Funny, this whole time I've been playing it with my ring finger on the 3rd fret 1st string.
