Re: bass bass bass

Where do I go on this site to find bass tabs, ones worth reading of course. I know they do not exist.
If you're able to help please contact me.

Re: bass bass bass

Hi Bassman,

Actually as a Guitarist I am constantly surprised by how many Bass Tabs I find hidden among the music here on Chordie....  I suppose it would be a violation of Murphy's Law if they were easy to find when you are looking for them though.  Most are disguised as guitar tabs listed along with the various versions in multiple song listings of the same title with the "chord" versions as "tab".

You might try a comment in the "other string instruments" section, as I know there are a bunch of bass players here among the membership, and like most Chordians quite helpful.  If there's an easy way to ferret them out someone surely will have a clue.

Re: bass bass bass

I am most definitely NOT a bass player but I do know one or two and they have said to me that if they can see the chords to a piece of music/song they can use that to work out what to play.

I assume that if they see a G chord they know they can play G, B and/or D to be in key but I am guessing. In writing this I have now got myself interested in how they do it so I will make a point to find out at the earliest opportunity.

Re: bass bass bass

I was lucky to find work playing tuba bass in a beach rock band.
The rhythm guitarist/singer recorded himself playing alone. This gave me the chance to play along with the tape and try different bass lines and solos over and over until I got what I wanted on each song. I was blessed with the opportunity to play bass lines that showcased what my tuba and I did best together.

I was working in the Upper Penninsula MI in a band battle thing. There was a 3 or four piece band called "Ta Huba Too"

Damn that was really good stuff

Re: bass bass bass

bassman5011,
A couple of years ago we traveled from the Gulf Coast of Alabama to Caseville, Michigan to play three concerts at "Cheeseburger in Caseville" - a week long Parrothead party. What a good time it was. They put us up on a 45 foot boat in the harbor. We played two outside venues and one smoky bar. Three of us drove straight through in a Jeep Cherokee pulling our huge P.A. in a U-Haul trailer. One drove, one napped in back and the third kept the driver awake and amused. Caseville had no cell phone service at all.
