Topic: A Little Life Left

If you'd like to hear this there's a demo video at...

or click on the web tab and go to videos

I recorded the song in the key of "B", I used a capo on the 5th frett and transposed to"G" for convenience...aren't I nice?

A little Life LeftUndefined

There's a [Am] little life left in the [D] song I wrote this [G] morning.

There's a [Am] word or two that [D] need to be [G] revised.

And [Am] sometime soon when the [D] harvest moon is [Em] waxing in the southern [C] sky.

I'll be [Am] singing for you, yes I can [D] do it if I have the [G] time.

There's a [Am] little time left for the [D] chicken's out in the [G] cornfield.

They [Am] eat up the corn and their [D] digging the dirt for [G] worms.

And [Am] sometime soon they'll be [D] coming around, [Em] time to meet the [C] axe.

[Am] Dinner for two, not [D] me and you, [G] relax.

(CHORUS)

[Bb] Time for cleaning and [F] time for washing.

And [C] time for taking out the [G] trash.

[C] Day after day we have to [Am] do these [G] things.

[Bb] Time for eating and a [F] time for loving.

And a [C] time for calling on the [G] lord.

[C] Lord there's a little time [Am] left, they say.-[G-D7]

(INTRO & FILL) > C-D|-C-G|-C-D|-C-G||

There's a [Am] little time left for [D] taking a ride to the [G] sea side.

Where the [Am] sand is gold and the [D] tide rides high [G] sometimes.

White [Am] horses ride the [D] waves.

We'll be [Em] glad we came [C] today.

When [Am] we get home we'll [D] wish that we had [G] stayed.Mmm.

(FILL) There's a little life left.....

(CHORUS)

Hi Phill,

Just had a listen, good song and recording. There is still a Bb in it when transposed to G so I bet Zurf won´t be happy with it smile.

By the way I did not realise until I saw this that you were left handed.

Bravo!!! Top notch as always! wink

Broke out solo without Mr. Harding did you? Some of Lennon's best stuff came out when he and McCartney parted ways!!!! Just kidding!

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.

hi geo, no russ and i haven't fallen out, we work solo or together when we get the chance. thanks for the listen.

hello roger,  yes i've always been a southpaw on guitar and shooting a gun. righty when writing and either way batting at cricket or boxing! i'm just a crazy mixed up kid? sorry about the Bb zurf!

hi jeff,  thanks my friend. when you dont have time to record a song properly it's easy to put the camera on and record that way (so i dont forget how the damn thing goes) old age don't come alone!

Re: A Little Life Left

hi russ,

no editing, i just recorded the song so i wouldnt forget the tune...(it's an age thing) so i record them quickly, but i thought it stood up on it's own so i posted the vid.

i do intend to work on the song and produce a better sound etc.

glad you like it, there's another in the pipe-line, which if i can get it right will be a much better song.
