Re: strumming patterns

I've only been playing around 9 months Ash and could never figure out strumming patterns. All the advice given on the forum regarding this problem has always been too listen to the song and practise. Pretty soon it gets easier to work out.

A good piece of advice I've read on here a few times as well is; unless you want a faithfull reproduction of the song the strum pattern will only be your interpretation of the tune and therefore maybe not as important to 'nail' as you might be thinking.

Re: strumming patterns

It's easier if you learn to play drums first, but what you really need to do is play it your own way. If you want to hear it just like the record, play the record. Just play it the way you feel it.
