Electric Ukes In Kit Form

Has anyone come across a solid bodied electric uke in kit form?

I am interested in experimenting but am unwilling to dive in and commit a couple of hundred bucks just yet

Has anyone come across one or even made / or adapted one

I am particularly interested in the tone controls that I see on the manufactured ones

I am not interested in putting an electric pick up on an acoustic (been there and one that)
