Topic: IS THIS PLAGIARISM OR NOT?????

On my everlasting search to TRY and write some interesting threads and or information for chordie I discover sometimes = very little but AMAZING facts.
WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE=
- We all know the phenomenal song who is topping almost every hitparade in every country for years, like the greatest hits in 2007, you will find almost always in the top 5
1) LED ZEPPELIN with STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
2) QUEEN with their bombastic but fantastic song BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
3) DEEP PURPLE with CHILD IN TIME

DO ME A FAVOR --> GO TO YOUTUBE --> FACT 1 =  SEARCH SPIRIT+ the song TAURUS = Same or very similar to STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. The story is that Jimmy Page was somewhere in 1969 in a club in LA where the band taurus played at that time, and as we all know, some tunes we will always remember. FACT 2 = YOUTUBE --> SEARCH 'BOMBAY CALLING by the American Band IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY from 1969) = CHILD IN TIME by DEEP PURPLE. Nobody knows if the song is "stolen", some people say that Jon LORD had a relation with one of the female members and he could use that intro, and he gave them another song. This is far the most logical explanation.

- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.

Re: IS THIS PLAGIARISM OR NOT?????

I remember George Harrison commenting on the plagiarism allegations over My sweet Lord (?) that there were only 7 notes to choose from anyway.

Still, this is Bert Jansch playing Blackwater Side ( possibly a Trad song anyway)

and this is Page's version -

Page said of Jansch - "At one point, I was absolutely obsessed with Jansch. When I first heard that LP ( the 1965 debut) , I couldn't believe it. It was so far ahead of what anyone else was doing. no-one in america could touch that." Neil Young also said " as much a great guitar player as Jimi (Hendrix) was, Bert Jansch is the same for acoustic guitar, and my favourite."

"What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understandin' ."    Elvis Costello
