Embrase the sqeek, its the sound of progrees.
Ah, string talk...don't you just love it <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_cool.gif" border=0 alt="Cool">
practice.
that is about the only thing I can recommend. It will go away when you get used to the guitar.
Yep I used to squeak but with time it goes
and practice, practice practice.
Dude dont worry about squeaking, it sounds cool and its all part of the acoustic experience
If it annoys you try using <b>flat wound strings</b>, no squeak.
lol put some WD-40 on there <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif" border=0 alt="Razz">
lol ill try the wd 40 lol
Lanolyn also works, but your guitar will smell like a sheep!
The squeak is natural! You're bound to hear it live, or on natural-sounding recordings. Some producers really hate it, because they don't see it as "part of the music". For me, some songs just aren't the same without it.
Better than wd40 is to eat a bucket of chicken just before playing.

actually ive tried that one but i ran out of chicken after a few days
Seriously, I tend to find that new strings give you this but as they get older and more used the squeak disappears. Or is that my fingers I'm thinking of. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_rolleyes.gif" border=0 alt="Rolling Eyes">
The squeak is good (within reason!), but if you want rid of it then spray a little WD40 onto a cloth and give your strings a quick wipe. Stops them rusting too!
It happens to every one and you can even here it on Cds and records i.e.Sister Golde Hair buy America you can hear it
Go to a good guitar store and ask that question, most sales guys know quite a bit and you may try different strings, and there is a substance you buy in a can and wipe on the strings they sell
Finger Ease... spray can...use directly on the strings.
a little pricey but works great!
peace, slim.
Try Elixar Strings. They have a coating on them that makes it much easier on the fingers. They cost more but they will last longer. If price is an issue buy some
"Finger Ease" at your local music store. This works great as well.
