Topic: Left handed guitars

We are shopping for a left handed guitar for my wife but are not having alot of luck finding any selection at a store.  There are plenty of options online but she wants to see, hold and play the guitar before buying.  I like the baby taylor and think this would be a good size for her because she is pretty small and would probably have a hard time with a full size.  I have never seen a left handed guitar but assume that the sound and action of any model would be the same in left or right handed.  Also does anyone know of a place around Atlanta that might have a large selection of used guitars, like a specialty pawn shop?  I want her to get a guitar she is happy with because my first guitar almost caused me to quit learning.

Re: Left handed guitars

Greetings Southrnrockr and welcome to Chordie!

I'm sure that there  is a Chordian  out there in your neck of the woods that could direct you to a store locally.  It is best to actually lay your hands on the instrument before you shell out hard earned dollars for sure.  The main guy I jam with is also a leftie and we had a real hard time last time he went shopping to find a Taylor for him to try out.
Not to mention that Gibson wants an arm and both legs for their left handed models (like it's not bad enough that can openers, scissors, and even toilet paper holders are on the "wrong" side).
If you have a Guitar Center in the area, they might have a few hanging on the wall.  The larger stores usually will try to have at least one left handed in each brand they carry.
