Topic: WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF?

What will happen if you take a guitar, let's say a GIBSON with
# Neck Pickups: 490R alnico magnet humbucker
# Bridge Pickups: 498T alnico magnet humbucker
AND YOU CHANGE THE PICK-UPS
- Bridge pick-up will be a 490R
- Neckpick-up will be a 498T

Did someone try this already? And what result would this change have on the sound?

Re: WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF?

I suspect nothing will happen because I think the pickups are nearly identical, within manufacturing tolerances. My understanding is that the sound differences come from the pickup location on the guitar, not differences in the pickups. Changing from humbucker to regular pickups would make a difference, however.
