This is a very light AUTHENTIC GIBSON, with 2 single coils.

- Gibson Blem SG Special Electric Guitar                608$
- Gibson Faded SG Special Electric Guitar               699$
These are higher than your budget. But try eBay, if you are a non US citizen, and they deliver at your home and country DON'T FORGET the CUSTOMS. I did this 7 times, in July/August 2006, the Euro was already stronger = 1200$ = 1000€, and the price I paid was an extra 300€ for a guitar  sold here for 1800€.
ADVICE check some guitars on YOUTUBE, you SEE & HEAR them. Please try to keep the EPI SG special, it's one of the cheapest but a real good one.
Of course you have a lot more guitars, so WHAT KIND OF GUITAR or BRAND do you want?

I really hope that you have an idea now. My method is LOOK on line, judge on youtube and decide. If you have the occasion go to your guitar store and try, this is time consuming, in my case difficult (disabled) but I was here in BELGIUM known in the two biggest stores, because I spended more than a professional, allowing me to play on "guitars behind bars".
