Topic: ALSO 12-String + Cutaway
When you buy a 12-string guitar, the sound is very different compared to a 6-string.
I tried a few, having already a Martin D-1 12.
In a guitar shop, I tried some others like Guild, Washburn in a lower price category.
My conclusion was:
- The sound is so overwhelming, so nice and loud, that, if I didn't had that Martin (I got it for free) I would prefer a GUILD, like Guild GAD-F212E 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar $899,95 or an
- Alvarez RD20S12 Regent Series Dreadnought 12-String NOT ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC and $399
It might be difficult to choose, but I really don't hear much difference between a $500 12-string and a $2000 12-string, because the sound is 100% different than a 6-string acoustic. The sound, volume is overwhelming and this is "subjective" I don't HEAR a lot of difference.
IT IS A LOT MORE DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE A 6-STRING THAN A 12-STRING.
What I also don't like are the CUTAWAYS guitars, like TAYLOR, TAKAMINE, they sound different, more metallic. I don't have a cutaway model, besides to possibility to play higher on your fret board there is that 1 thing I don't like: same brand having a dreadnought or a cutaway, I prefer the dreadnought.
I really loved to see comments, and it's even better having the same brand, one with, and one without CUTAWAY.
- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.
