Topic: Vox Returns...

As a double cut semi....?

Big picture in this month's Guitarist magazine, looks like a 335 or Les Paul with mod styled f-hole. I am so disappointed... they haven't even hinted at the classic 'teardrop' Vox shape :-(

Re: Vox Returns...

Vox is a wellknown brand in the amp world, but in guitarland I know nothing about it, but I will look on the web

Re: Vox Returns...

- About amps, I know VOX was very important.
- About guitars, this new for me.
I found a site with 2 models. They look like fenders, but it's like they cut pieces from a Fender, link: www.voxshowroom.com

I just noticed that they produce a MINI VOX 12 guitar. YOU REALLY HAVE TO SEE IT, IT IS UNBELIEVABLE, this guitar reminds me a puppy, you are impressed.

Re: Vox Returns...

Here's a link Phil, Vox guitars in the 60s were about the teardrop look (prior in the late 50s they were awful attempts at strats). I'm not sure they had any kind of special sound but they certainly had a special look.

They also did the Phantom, which is roughly described as a trapezoid shape, very sci-fi. The real thing with Vox is that they looked very futuristic, only a Stratocaster looked as cool. Gibsons and Teles looked old school ;-)
