great lyrics Alex,
can I just point out one thing though?
It is not too bad and maybe it is meant?

the whole song makes it sound like you alone are leaving someone but in the chorus on the second line you have
aboard that ship that we went on.

would it not be better " the ship I went on"?

just a thought, your song and you can sing whatever you want. I just spotted that pretty quickly.


Even with that though, great song.

strange chords too, but that is not a bad thing. Now I need to hear this before I attemp it.

I think its awesome big_smile although I agree with upyerkilt about the 'we went on' line, I think maybe it just needs an explanation to make sense? Another verse would be great, because I love the flow of the lyrycs. Normally I pick a favorite line, but the whole thing runs along together nicely, maybe I'll get the guitar out and try the chords, lets see C#m...........

Can't wait to see the next verse or two - I for one gotta know more about this whole relationship!
Like the smiling at the sun image - I can see her with a big happy grin all squinty and laughing with the sunshine making every detail sharp.

Hey guy's, this is STILL unfinished, but I got round to recording a bit of it, sorry about the poor effort but I'll try harder next time!

Its a hard song to play, and trying to get my voice to sing a G# note is even harder lol

Dont know how i missed this one.  Smiling is exactely what i do to the sun! We so rarely get
enough of it round these parts.

My webcam is my only source of recording now, plus it sounds alot better lol
