Topic: yawning

I am sure everyone knows or most know that yawning is contagious.
you see someone yawn and you end up yawning too. I am not too sure why but you try this with a baby and it doesnt work, why not?
I tried this on my son when he was about 2 years old when he would not go to sleep. I thought I would yawn and yawn and yawn, BIG YAWNS, the kind that comes from the deepest part of your lung sort of yawn YAAAAAAWWWWWWWNNNNNNNn, that kind!!
nope, still nothing, he looked but no yawns. Also tried it a few years later with my daughter when she was 2/3. Nothing!!

I know it did happen when they were about 5 years old, so why is it if yawning is contagious that babies are exempt from catching onto this?

I have yawned 2 times while typing this.
How many more have yawned or felt like yawning or feel a yawn just about to come on now?


If not, when you close this window you will yawn within 5 minutes probably

I lost a bet once over a yawn. At the local bar a friend and I
made a bet that he could get me to yawn. I told him he was foolish and bet a cold beer. Well after 6 or 7 yawns by my
friend I yawned. Then I payed my debt.It worked on me.
