Topic: New to electric ^^

Hey there, I just signed up to chordie.com after lurking around for months.


I have recently bought my first electric guitar, I have been playing classical and self taught acoustic for about 6 years now.


The problem I am having with playing electric at the moment is that I have very little idea as to what the dials on my guitar and amplifier actually <b>do</b>. The only bits I know are the base, treble, echo/reverb and distortion (button ^^).


Can anyone give me any info? Any amp tutorials on the 'net?

volume knobs: controll the output from the pickup

tone knobs: change the amount of mid range given out

As to which knob does what on the guitar - you'll have to give us a little more information There are lots of configurations.


What kind of guitar is it?


Your amp is a well known and supported model, so I'm sure the controls are listed somewhere on the web. It's supposed to be a pretty decent practice amp.
