im in a band and would like to know some steps from some of you thoughtful chaps out there on how to get some popularity and gigs and the like

Cut a short demo CD, and hand it out to booking agents.

Never pass on an opportunity to play in front of people.

Get your music on line.  Use mySpace and other social networking sites to your advantage.

But mostly, never pass on an opportunity to play in front of people.  Open mic nights are your friend.

gig gig gig and then gig some more even if you gig for free.

Thats how to get notcied,
or on the net on youtubio or myspace. or make a website deicated to your band and have live stream videos at certain times, see how many people log on.

best way though is to gig gig gig gig gig
