This is from 1969 from a time when i had brown hair and pimples.
This band were the first nz band to write their own songs,i know its hard to believe
but we pretty well just covered uk bands up till about 1966-7

Hadn't heard this one, but we had the same situation in Australia - breaking out and writing your own songs was a rare thing, but became more common in the 70's and was somewhat of a norm by the 80's ...

Oh now that's a great song, I used to love that song, haven't heard it in forever.   And I am ashamed to say I didn't know they were a Kiwi band.

In the UK bands covered American records until the Beatles, Stones and the Kinks came along. Apart from the BeeGees and the Easybeats antipodean music escaped me. To be honest this song doesn't float my boat like so many British records from that era, good but not brilliant.
