Through the times, Stone, Iron and Middle Ages,

The Industrial age and, so it goes on and on.

We human beings, keep growing and a changing.

Babyhood, childhood, teenage years, (they come of age),

Middle age and old age, forever graduating.

People living out their lives,

Some easily, some in strife.

Some struggling to make a buck,

Some just down on their luck.

Living on a basic wage,

They feel the pressure and they disengage.

Jan your song covers the many aspects of frustration and outrage that many around the world experience. In the space of a couple of minutes which would take politicians talking for a couple of hours to cover, your song sums things up really good. You're a good songwriter.

You can certainly write a protest song Jan. The only line I disagree with is the one about the media down playing whatever the politicians or the radicals are getting up to, at least in the uk! The media here blow everything up and ended many a political or show biz career. I've said it before but again, you have a lovely voice, and your uke playing and timing is spot on, love the riff.

Loved this song.
Phill I agree with you halfway on you comment on media coverage.  You are correct that they can be career- enders.
However - I also agree with Jan that they turn a blind eye to many.( Depending on political  perspectives or monetary impact)
I can't stand the way CNN and FOX both make up crap  or dig especially deep for political endorsement.
News show be impartial and wholly truthful.

But anyways - good thing we have independent writers and musicians that do exposes on importmatters that get lost in the media.

Thanks Peatle, lol you summed it up with the politicians and even then, your being generous with the amount of time it takes them to talk about or make a decision on anything big_smile

Thanks Phlll, lol I didn't start out to make a protest song, but it kind of turned into that I guess, more by accident than intent big_smile    "The media down playing" part of the song was more about they don't always tell the truth, they only tell what they want to reveal, their narrative that they want the public to see, believe.   I agree, they can for sure show lots of things on the news and blow everything up for the viewers, so that again the public see`s their narrative, what they want the public to see.  So, we are both correct, the media both down plays and blows everything up, to suit their narrative.  I was focused on the down playing side as they hide the truth often.

Thanks Jim, you got it exactly what I was meaning and you have nailed it, regarding for political or monetary endorsements or impact, not to mention lining pockets ....... hmm maybe another song in that big_smile
