This is beautiful, Phill! I think you probably remembered I like 3/4 time for some songs and having not yet heard you play it, I can hum it to myself in my head. Please let us know when and where it's posted, because I'm anxious to hear you perform it. I loved every line, although the ending did take me aback a little. You cheeky devil!
Your Friend
Bill
there is a little twist in the tale. glad you like it. i'm waiting for a friend of mine to add a harmonica which he said would sound good, he's also a great guitarist so he may add a solo...
Phill
Brilliant Lyrics !
Love the ending - but you made the assumption she walks on....... maybe not !
I don't know how to play 3/4 time so I will wait for your version.
Way to go my friend.... knocked i to the Moon !

Another cracker Phill
Nice work, Phill, once again ... good lyrics which evoke vivid images, and warm yet sad thoughts.
thanks everyone for having a read and passing on your great reviews. this began as a happy song, one day. i went back to it a few days later and the sadder part came out. there's a story line in coronation street (a British soap) at the moment about a wimp of a guy trying to put his marriage back on track. having been there, i know it's piddling against the wind, hence the end part!
i found it's no good living on dreams and hoping for the best, the only way forward is by starting a new page.
and anyway....songs write themselves
Great song Phill i look forward to hearing it.
Been there too best to leave.
Well written Phill, look forward to hearing this one
Thanks Jandle, it's sitting on my hard drive at the moment waiting to get finished, along with several others! But your request is noted.
