Topic: Problem with accented letters in french songs

Hello,
I've been using Chordie for a while and used to upload my songs (in French or English) using my personal website. For French songs I had to upload my ChordPro songs in txt format using the Occidental (Windows Latin 1) option in Word, in order to get the accented letters.
Since recently, the format is OK when I upload the song in chordie, but once I add the song to one of my Songbook, I loose the accents. I tried to edit the songs : the edition and the preview is OK, but back to the songbook everything is lost.
I presume that the songs are now copied in Chordie (that's why I may edit them) but formatting is lost in the process.

If someone has solved the problem, I would be glad to learn the solution.

Re: Problem with accented letters in french songs

I have spoken to the site's owner and programmer and he has not come across this before and, being unable to reproduce it, is unsure of a fix but he did suggest you might try to use Unicode in Word.

Re: Problem with accented letters in french songs

Thanks for the rapid answer.
I hoped that some changes would explain why the way I did it is no longer working, too bad. I will make further trials with unicode.
