My amp decided to release it's smoke last night. 
So between the busted Kustom and the busted Fender, we are down to about 30 watts total amplification.
This is a drag.
I feel for you been there a few times I have been fairly lucky with my gear I still have a 100 w sonic head with two 12" speaker cabs as a back up to my Marshall and the bass player and drummer both have extra amps at our rehearsal studio so I am covered. hope ya get it sorted out it is almost easier to get a new amp then repair older ones unless you are into electronics and can do it yourself. good luck with it. 
Bummer I do agree with Russell on the price. (fix or new one)
This one is only about five years old, so it should be OK to fix with modern parts.
i hate it when your kit lets you down. hope it all works out for you.
Whatta a bummer, Jerome! I haven't seen smoke from an amp for a l-o-n-g time (thankfully) but it can be a real adventure trying to find out why, and how to fix it. I hope your adventure ends successfully and inexpensively.
The "rolled and pleated" Kustom? Oh, God - I remember those (candy-apple red) beauties from the 60's and 70's. I hope you won't have any probs finding the proper replacement tubes, jerome, and even though I'm primarily a drummer, I do empathize and sympathize. It was no fun having had to tone myself down so as not to drown out the strings and voices.

This one is only six years old, and I bought it new. All the tubes should be modern. Kustom quit making this one in this size, though (50W) so I can't just run out and buy a new one.
