Topic: Festivals

Just got back from T in the park and I'm now starting too detox! Saw some terrific bands; Kasabian and Kings of Leon undoubtedely being the highlight for me. Why they weren't both on the main stage too close the festival is beyond me, No doubt lots of peeps like the Scissor Sisters and Snooze (Snow) Patrol, but come off it they are hardly headline acts imo.

Are any fellow chordians planning too attend a festival or have you already been? What were the highlights for you? And did you think someone else should have been the headline act instead of the one that was chosen?

Re: Festivals

The Montreal Jazz Fest has been going on for the past 2 weeks. I was there last night. Last night was the third time I attended. Many free shows and some you have to pay for. I purchaced tickets for Buddy Guy and George Therogood. Worth every penny. Saturday I bought tickets to a luthiers exibition. Luthiers from all around the world showing off thier creations. Some of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen. I believe last night was the last night. One thing for sure, as long as I am in Montreal I will never miss that festival. Only thing I can say is What a show

what a long strange trip it's been

Re: Festivals

Sounds like you had a good time PatrtickJaques. The Jazz fest does attract real good artists. I like going to the blues festivals they have here in Nova Scotia. You can substitute
trout for lobster. Probaly make you sicker than a hangover.

Re: Festivals

It's called a Jazz fest but to my surprise a lot of blues acts. I saw this one band called blues camp. I counted 10 musicions not one looked to me to be older than 16 or 17 years old. Seems that they were actually a bunch of kids who attended a blues summer camp. I am telling you they wailed. After the show I chatted with one of the guitar players. He had a fat hollow body Epiphone, Sunburst with gold hardware. He said he really liked it. The kid said he had been playing for about 5 years. Tell you I was relly inpressed
