Topic: capo's and tabs

hi everyone, im new here and ive been playing guitar for about 2 months, teaching myself.


I set myself the challenge of trying to learn canon in d. I can play all the chords required in the tab on this site and so far it sounds ok. But it says u need a capo on the 2nd fret so i ordered one yesterday. Does this mean that all the chords are moved down 2 frets and played the same, or are they played completely different to what it shows in the tabs.


I just wanted to know because it sounds fine as it and also i didnt know how a capo affected the tabs.

if it doesnt say anything then use the orriginal chord shapes at the new location or you could always transpose to another key and not use the capo

yea, just move the chords two frets down, use the capo as if it were the head of the guitar.. hope it helps
