Topic: Proper placement of saddle

The saddle fell out while changing the strings in my acoustic electric.   Do the bass strings
cross the tall end of the saddle or the steel strings? I'm still a newbie.

Didn't mean to get technical with this my request.  I have a Yamaha acoustic electric with a white plastic saddle plain Jane.
just forgotten which direction to place it back into the bridge.  thanks
