Topic: coolest comment to me today

To begin,

Yesterday I went to the now only music store in a 20 mile radius of my house.  In the past I have mentioned this store with disdain because they always seemed full of themselves.  Now with no other close place to take my Ovation for her new silk and steels I took a deep breath and walked in to ask how much it would be ($20.00).  To my surprise there was a new young guy at the counter.  He was helpful and generally ok.
I made the mistake of walking in the show room (I covered that in my Peavey topic) and ended up late for work. sad

Today I took the Ovation, Older gentleman at the counter. Very nice guy.  As I was standing for my turn, a young guy (I lightly say kid, I’m guessing 17-19) was in front of me.  After his turn he went into that evilest of places, the showroom with all the toys out for you to play with, and I didn’t think twice about it.
After my guitar was taken and told either tomorrow or Monday, I heard some good vibes in the showroom.  I wandered in and pretended to look at the Mesa stacks and the lovely Marshalls that were on sale and the same kid and his friend were jamming.
When they stopped, he asked me how they sounded.  I said pretty good, nice vibe. Then he asked me THE COOEST QUESTION I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED.  instead of asking what I played he seriously asked "Do you write anything"  I had to do a double take, "Pardon"  He said do you write any of your own stuff? I was still pretty shocked and trying to hide it.  I said Well ,,, yep I have a few things.  I asked if I could play his ax and he said Well it’s tuned down to C# lol   Said that’s ok you’ll get the idea.  Let him know I was no Eddie Van Halen and played Garage beer days and Dark Eyed town house.  He had raised Brows and really seemed to like them.  When I Told him the one was Neil young dirty dist he got that deer in the headlights look. He asked me if I played Bass and I said just root notes and about teaching my son Blitzkrieg bop, more glazed eyes LOLOL.
So being the guy I am I told him to check out YT for Ramones and the Dead Kennedys lol

This was all in the space of about 20 min. could not be late for work again!  I went back in at the last min and gave him my e-mail and told him if he didn’t mind jamming with an old man to hit me up.  I also told him about our little family here.  I hope he joins.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.
