Topic: Johhny Cash's version of Hurt. Picking pattern?

Hello everybody,
  I have been watching/listening Jonny Cash's version of Hurt (the 'official' youtube video).
I can't figure out the picking pattern that is used.
I have the song with chords from here... Does anyone know how it's done?
