Topic: Weight Falling Off
After I hit my bench press goal it was time to start taking weight off. I did low carb, low cal, paleo, south beach, etc. Tried them all and the fat was just so sticky - couldn't get it off me! At the urging (with the help of a little bet) from a good friend, I decided to do 60 days of veganism. No meat, no dairy, no fish. Nothing that is made from a being that ever had a pulse. (Including butter and broth.)
Given those restrictions, I've been eating like an absolute pig. I am doing absolutely no portion control whatsoever and I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, so long as it isn't from an animal. I could tell after the first few days that my body was changing. I have ignored the scale because I don't want to pressure myself. So I've just been livin' vegan for three weeks. Still drinking beers. No exercise other than walking the puppy.
On Sunday I noticed that a shirt seemed way too big for me. This AM I noticed that a pair of khakis was enormous on me. I stopped by the gym for a weigh in and measurements.
In 3 weeks I've lost 3 inches, 23 pounds, and my resting pulse has gone from 95+ to the high 60's, low 70's. I have had almost no meat cravings. I wake up more alert and ready for my day than I ever have. I've also cut out sweeteners, anything artificial, and refined flours. (Although these don't violate veganism since the diet change was so easy I just figured what the heck?) I stuff my face all day and the weight is just falling off. No noticeable reduction in muscle volume, stamina, or anaerobic performance.
This is quite literally the easiest dietary change I've ever done. I'm really happy with the results so far and can't wait to see what the next 5 weeks have in store!
