Topic: Writing songs with Chords shown above them.

What program do I use to write songs and chords above them like in those songs in this website? I like having to see songs and chords for practice and I want to learn how to do it so I can attempt in writing them out for songs from my home island.

Re: Writing songs with Chords shown above them.

ChordPro is one that will do it.  Hopefully some more informative posts will follow telling you how.

I use Word pad. I used to put the chords over the words but I found that occasionally when I printed the song they didn't line up perfectly. Thats when I started putting the chords in line with the words exactly where the chord change occurs. It works better for me.

Chorpro is the format designed to do this.  Look it up on google and it will explain how it works.  I use a program called Linkesoft Songbook which is chordpro as the method to dothis.  Look it up also.  This program just brngs the chodpro songs you copy ito it and stores the songs and manages them.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Writing songs with Chords shown above them.

Just use microsoft word. Set text to single space lines but double click so you get double space lines. After writing lyrics go back and click on the space above the line and add the chords in the correct location, in capital letters. Once this in done you can bold the chords of select another color so they are easier to see. Also, as you are practising the song you can move the chords slightly left or right so they corrospone correctly to the lyrics. Very easy done.
