Topic: Alvarez 5040 Koa

Hey, anyone own one.  Alvarez 5040, How do you like the guitar.  Just purchased mine at a flea market, $110.00 with Hard case.  Man, I love the sound and feel like I have found a treasure, what do you think, Sonny

I did a quick search for the 5040 and it seems to be an older guitar and had good reviews. GuitarPix will post all the info you need.

Yep - need a Pic - And Pix - the pressure is on!

I can't speak to your model, but I've got an Alvarez 12'r (purchased from Mr. Pix), that plays so sweet and sounds great!

LOL... The 5040 had a lam Koa top with lam mahogany back and sides... I'd guess late 80's. Some of the 5040's also came with spruce tops... Never played one but it does have numerous good reviews and the price you got it for was a deal big_smile  Great looking guitar too! If there's anything specific you want to know let me know, I can probably dig it up...lol
