Hello,

I found the chords for St.Ignatius by the Old 97's.

Recently I saw a video with the frontman for the band playing the song.

I notice he is using different chords. I think this might be because the band tunes down their instruments one whole step. Can anyone figure out what chords he is using? What chord is he moving higher on the guitar neck? Also, what other little tricks and "spice ups" is he doing? Thanks!

Hi Nevets - I've had to edit your post, as copyright lyrics cannot be posted within the forum.  See Pete's post for the same lyrics that were removed.  I'm pretty sure the version you've posted and that which Pete posted is pretty well the same thing just transposed to a different key.

I bet someone like Toots will be along soon to help you out with just what exactly is going on with that vid!  wink

He's tuned down to "D" tuning - two frets worth or half steps.
When he plays a "D" shape the guitar plays a "C". Notice how crappy his guitar sounds when he plays a "E" shape.
So he is singing in the key of C. It's decision time.
Chance the key of the song to use Rhett's chord shapes and sing in that higher pitch - or, use a capo to change the guitar pitch to sing in that same key.
