Topic: Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan

I can't believe the destruction in Japan. My parents actually live In Misawa, way up north. But they have been in Las Vegas looking for a house for the past 2 weeks. Glad for that. But my mom has family in Sendai tho. We haven't & won't hear anything until they go back in 2 more weeks. My wife, son, and I were just in Japan visiting my parents last September. Crazy thing is that our original plans were to go on my son's spring break from school which is the last week of this month.  We had traveled thru some of these cities on a trip from the north down to Tokyo. So even tho it's a far away place, it's not so far, hits too close to home.

All I can do is pray for the whole country as they face their challenges each day.

It's a mess over there.  I'm in Kauai Hawaii right now.   They evacuated the lower floors of the hotel the other night as a result of the tsunami warning, and the harbor emptied out of ships in just a few hours.

Someday we'll win this thing...

Re: Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan

It's very hard to watch some of the videos... I can't imagine dealing with something like that here.  Fingers crossed, hopes and prayers for your family Z; I hope everyone is safe and I'm very glad to know your parents happened to be somewhere other than Japan during this particular time.

Re: Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan

I've been through plenty of hurricanes here on the Gulf Coast and none of them gave me the chills I got by watching those videos from Japan.  God help those folks.
