Topic: Any Opinions?

I'm recently new to playing the guitar. I practice everyday for about 2 hours. I was wanted to learn some pretty easy songs to start out with. I was just wondering what songs are the easiest to start out with. What are some of your opinions?

Re: Any Opinions?

This question comes up a lot.  Look through the forums and you will find lots of answers to this question.  It really all depends on what type of music you like.  You will usually learn faster if you learn something that you already know the melody to. Also, go to the songbooks section and there you will find beginners songs.  Lots of them.
Oh, and welcome to Chordie.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Ben's right. Go to the songbooks and you'll see easy books

Thanks Ben! (:

Re: Any Opinions?

Neil Diamond songs are great for this, and also 'The Beatles', they will also be a great learning template for Rythm and Timing, Plus John and Paul wrote almost all their songs on acoustic guitar first, so they are well apt. If you have an Ipod, or IPad etc, there is a great ap you can download for about £5.99 , 'The Beatles Little Black Song Book' it has every Beatles song with chords, backing tracks and some learning Video's, it's great! if you don't have an iPod it is available in plain book form from most Guitar shops or over the internet . Good luck to you.
