Topic: what child is this

My uncle was showing me how to play 'What Child is This?' the other day and I thought I had it, but then realized I forgot to ask about the chorus. The way he showed me was pick one string and strum a chord, pick, strum, pick... Anyway, it sounds really good, but I can't figure out the chorus. Anybody have any ideas??

Howdy!  Welcome to Chordie (as I haven't made it around to that yet this evening).

Hit the "Artists" tab at the top of the page and you will want to go to M under "Misc. Christmas".....   In there you will find something like 7 versions of the tune listed and I'm sure one of those will be similar to what you have learned so far.  If not, you can change the key up or down in the transpose box on the right side of the screen to get it into the chord signature you are using.

Again welcome to the largest and possibly friendliest guitar site on the net, happy to see you are making yerself to home.

if you cant locate the chords for What child is this look for the song Greensleeves the chords are identical

Thanks for the response! Doug, I tried all of those chords - I think. But maybe I missed one... I'll check again. That's a good point, Russell, about Greensleeves being the same as WCIT.

Good tip Russell!  I did NOT know that!  smile

Alrighty, I checked out those other tabs. They weren't exactly the same as what I was looking for - but very close. So I kinda merged those tabs and my own interpretation of the song into what I think sounds good. Thanks so much for all the help!

Gotta love it!  That's half the fun in my experience.

Sorry I didn't see your post before Christmas.  I was working on this one as well.

I play the song in A minor, and with that the chords in the chorus are as follows (one beat per chord):

C C G G F F E E  C C G G Am E Am Am

You can transpose it to fit whatever key you're playing it in.
