Topic: Ordination of an old friend

I attended the ordination of a friend tonight.  It's heartwarming when good things happen to good people.  Anyway, the music was good too.  It was a soft rock trio doing updated versions of hymns and worship songs.  Good stuff.

Zurf, you are fortunate indeed, to have a man of the cloth as a good friend.
Not to say you need someone to pray you out of any possible misdeeds. I just hope that you're in heaven for a good half hour before the devil finds out you're dead.

Toots, I consider each of my friends to be a blessing.  My Gram used to say that everyone who visits blesses her, some by coming and some by going.  Anyway, several friends are men of the cloth.  I used to tell people to use the side door of my house because the front door is for preachers and salesmen.  I amended that to politicians and salesmen (is there a difference) when my friends starting being preachers.   

Butch8844 - Good for you.  I'm not familiar with LCMS, but ordination is surely a big deal. 
EDIT TO ADD: Well I looked up LCMS - it appears to be a good, solid, Bible-teaching mainstream orthodox Christian denomination with a rich history of community service.  Way to go Butch8844!

Souds like a great time Zurf. I just came back from a three day youth retreat for our church. My two sons and myself played praise and worship tunes for the group all weekend long. It was an awsome experiance!
