Topic: palmer 1/2 size acoustic
I bought a 1/2 size palmer acoustic guitar at a yard sale ( cheap ).
Inside the label reads PF 815GS
I have googled it nine ways to sunday with nothing.
It came in a hard case that looks aged.
Any one have any idea?

I have never heard of the brandmmaybe someone here will know about them. but if it plays good and was cheap you may have a good deal.
Palmer have been making guitars for 85 years in the USA and subcontract manufacture of some models to China and Indonesia. I don't think yours is anywhere near that kind of age. With Palmer guitars the first 2 letters usually indicate the type of guitar so PD is Dreadnought likewise PF's are usually Folk models. The PF815 was made between 1987 and 1991 but I can't find any info on a half size model. Perhaps the GS designates the size. Anyway Palmer guitars are based in Miami, Florida and they may be able to give you a bit more information about your new acquisition - hopefully they are better informed than their website which is anything but helpful.
Hope this helps a little

Good Info there Ian, that's about all I could come up with as well. I do wonder however if the GS designation refers to the woods?
Something like GS = German Spruce.... it wasn't mentioned in any of the reviews I found either, and like you said the website was of little help in giving up information that could be useful. Many reviews I read from owners and publications did say that generally they were pretty good in the fit and finish department, which leads me to think that someone was writing good specs for their contractors.
Personally, I tend not to be too "snobbish" about guitars.... if it fits you and plays well, and has the sound that you enjoy, it's a good one. What it's made of, where it came from, who stuck a brand on it matters little.
Take Care, and Welcome Aboard Stringsofsix!
