Steve - Great song by a great songwriter - Here are two links that will give you what you need.  The first is the full lyric from the artist's website.  The second is a YouTube video of the artist performing the song - you can see his hands clearly.

There are also several fan-produced videos of this epic there on YouTube.  When yo figure it out, let me know what the chord changes are - I want to learn it also.  James

Hello again, Steve - Here is what I've got so far for the basic chord changes . . . pick your key (Em, D, A) or (Am, G, D) or (Dm, C, G) or (Gm, F, C) or (Cm, Bb, F).

Also, realized that Tom Petty's 'Last Dance for Mary Jane' has the same basic set of changes in the verses . . .

You Du Man J.M.

What a great lyric. Soon as, or if I do, learn to play this I will show you what I've come up with...

Did anyone come up with a chord sheet and lyrics for this?  I'm a bit flumoxed.

Re: song request/We Can't Make It Here Anymore

Looks like James got it right...sounds best in E-minor (of course).  The riff is pretty simple, looks something like this:

A|------2---x-x--5---0---|  |-------2---x-x---5-3-2-0---|
E|---0--0---x-x-----------|  |---0--0---x-x---------------|

Not quite the easiest thing to read, I know.
