Topic: Music trivia

I was thinking it may be fun to start a trivia thread. I know my head is full of useless information(at least according to Goodwife) so lets share some.  Paul McCartney actually played the lead on the song Taxman. So who's next?

Re: Music trivia

Cool idea bswyers, but I think it might be better if offered as a question answer. i.e. - Who played the lead  on the Beatles Taxman? - Then wait for others to respond.

I'll try with an easy one - Who played the lead on While My Guitar Gently Weeps?

Rule No. 1 - If it sounds good - it is good!

Eric Clapton

Who played lead on David Bowies' "China Girl"?

Give everything but up.

Re: Music trivia

Hi Southpaw, I cheated and googled for the answer and was surprised to see Stevie Ray Vaughan name listed...good one.

Who was the backup singer on Carly Simon-Your So Vain??

I found a song by Rory Gallagher on limewire. The only thing it said was "blues guitar solo". I imagine it would be titled "When the guitar plays the blues" because that repeats in the chorus but I'm just guessing. I can't find this song anywhere. I'm looking for tab's.
Can anyone help me with this?

Danny, this question should be asked in the appropriate section "song requests" to get an answer.  I suggest you start a new post there and delete this post.  This thread is about music trivia and hijacking it to ask a question about a song is not appropriate on a forum.  Thank you.

Now, back on topic

I did not know the answer and googled it because I LOVE this song!  I'm not revealing my find since it was trivia that I did not already know.  In my search however, I found interestingly that "Carly Simon claimed the lover in 'You're so vain' to be a composite of several people including guest vocalist ... "  Scandalous!  I have always been curious about this one but never looked it up, darn I love the internet!  lol

Re: Music trivia

VH1 did a special that told about the song (you're so vain) and how someone paid a bunch of money to find out who she wrote it about but were on contract to not ever tell anyone else.

Very interesting stuff...

Which band did Van Morrison start out with?

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Music trivia

"Them" was Van's first band....

What job did Eddy Money do before music??   this question depends on if my answer is correct.   lol
