hi guys and dolls where can i find free downloads backing tracks for my mp3 player i,am a newbe and need some backing tracks,,,,,,i,am into 60,s and country ,,,,please help ,,,thanks ,,,,dave..

Good ones are kind of hard to come by.  Most of what's free out there is MIDI and kind of "stiff."  I found one good free Chicago Blues backing track I'd be glad to share with you, but you'd have to e-mail me for it.

Other than that, I think the reason you haven't had any other responses is that nobody knows of any good FREE backing tracks.

Hey wilf12345, welcome to Chordie. Here's a link to a decent site with backing tracks www.guitarbackingtrack.com  They have a pretty good selection and links to other sites and if you become a full member you can customize the tracks. I just use the free version. Hope this helps.     Butch

What I do is go on youtube and download the backing track videos. (With "downloadhelper" for firefox)
Then convert the videos to MP3 with "IMTOO video converter".
Then I load them onto my blackberry and route the output from it into my amp or looper pedal and jam out.

if you are interested in blues at all... guitar center is holding a contest and they have free backing tracks available on their contest page (so you can practice for your contest entry)... here's the link to the free tracks (I wouldn't normally post links to GC, but this is for a freebie and contest)
