Play that with different patterns and speed and mix in Am Em and F and it sounds really cool.

Re: Cool Spanish guitar scale

That looks like a phrygian mode of the C scale, except for the Bb, which would normally be a B.

It's pretty common in flamenco and "gypsy" styles of music.

Someday we'll win this thing...

Re: Cool Spanish guitar scale

that could be any mode depending upon which note you play first.

try this variation of the same one

it's the mode based in harmonic minor;

if played in a minor, there is a raised 7th

if played in e phrygian, there is a raised 3rd (double phrygian-the gypsy/semitic scale)

Re: Cool Spanish guitar scale

Have a look at this. I found some well written, easy yo play tabs that really expand on the day to day stuff one would normally play. Enjoy;

I've got a question.
When you play notes in this scale, what are some of the notes that you play together??
Like, if you skip around...what notes sound great together that can form a song?

Thanks,
