Topic: bending

I'm having trouble making this note combination sound right. How do you play this tabbed
notes:  lets say on the B string 13b15? also when tabbing what does a tabbed note in parenthesis mean.?  Help

Re: bending

You're supposed to fret the b string 13th fret (C note) and bend it to the note of the 15th fret (D note). You can practice how far to bend it by simply using your tuner.. Pluck it fretted on 13 and you should show a C on your tuner now bend it till you get a D note.

The parentheses kinda depend on the tab itself and the tabers intent. There are no real set rules for tab but most often a note in parentheses is a tapped harmonic. However,  sometimes I see people use it for other things like a muted note, harder attack, softer attack, etc....
