Just what I needed ... thanks. The snowplow just deposited an impassable blockade at the end of my driveway. Guess I'll be missing Saturday morning cartoons to blow snow.

I'd never heard of Willie, Badeye, so looked him in Wikipedia. It says he passed away in 1953, which would make this recording very old. Thanks for digging it out for us!

I couldn't get through six years worth of links. And it's a day early, but blues isn't about precision. I hope this isn't a duplicate, but given the tremendous rain storm we had last night and all the snow it helped turn into run-off, the song fits. Seriously - yesterday I actually looked at the date icon on my computer bc I thought somehow I messed up and it was Thursday - when you didn't have the post. up. 
Leadbelly is awesome - what a wild life he had. His Biography is a good read.
His song "Where did you sleep last night?" is one of my favorites - it's actually how I discovered Leadbelly. I thought it was a Kurt Cobain / Nirvana song - but after researching found that they just were covering good ol' Leadbelly.
