Topic: Frustated with new Baritone Uke purchase

I just bought a Mahalo Baritone Uke after a friend showed me his new one which sounds vibrant, and great. For some reason this identical uke just sounds a little flat and dull compared to his, Can anyone suggest why this might be?

Try putting a new set of strings on it.....or maybe take it to get set up

Thanks for the suggestion but understand this ukulele is brand new, with brand new strings!!!

Is it possible the frets need work?

Brand new strings that you put on? Or are they from the factory? If it's the strings that came on it, I second BHA's opinion. Just because they look new doesn't mean they'll sound new wink Try some Aquilas on it...  Are you comparing it to the same model?  Peace! -Pix
