The way I see it is this; as long as you use plenty of hand sanitizer and/or wash your hands with warm, soapy water, viruses are much less likely to get inside of your computer, right?

I've been led to understand that if you do not allow others to cough or sneeze into your microphone, you can avoid getting viruses also. As in all things good personal care and a reasonable diet can go a long way! Update your anti-virus software and you'll be fine.... well unless you already have something lurking in there waiting for a weak moment.
My eldest boy is a Tech in IT... and around their office is a saying worth repeating at the risk of offending (for which I will apologise now) "There is no such thing as FREE Internet Porn!". Just a caution for any that might read this.... good judgement prevails.

Like Doug says nothing is free. By now, I would hope most folks would be wise enough to avoid attachments on email, pop up offers and other obvious virus related stuff. I spent 10 years as an IT guy and it was always the same sort of user who got infected. Common sense goes a long way. Update the antivirus and the operating system and it'll all pass over.
I run a scan most days. I also did read the link here.

Southpaw ! One of my friends sent me a link a while back.. It had a lot of porn images on there. although it was supposedly a
meeting place for people.
So being a woman of the world one who has seen it all, i wasnt very impressed. I declined to join.
Some days later, i was sending Pictures to my sister through Picasa. In the middle of my personal photographs were all these porn images from this site. to be honest id probably only spent about 15 minutes in all browseing the site. I had to call the cavalry in [ My sons ] to sort it. Some explaining i had there i tell you, while they nudge nudged / winked winked laughing there heads off at the there Ma.

That's hilarious Old Doll! Caught in the Act, so to speak. I just read about this Virus actually. And yup, they are hoping as long as your anti virus is updated etc, it will be OK.
