Topic: My Rendition of The Beatles classic If I Fell (for Beatles Week)

If you are a YouTube member and have done Beatles covers you can post them as a video response here.
Whenever I take on a Beatles song I know going in that there is no way I can do any of their songs justice.  The originals are such perfect timel;ess classics.
This is one I have wanted to do ever since I was a boy and saw the Hard Days Night movie on the big screen.
This song has captivated me for decades but I never learned it until now. Mainly because I just could not hit those high notes with my voice.

I had to tune down one whole step and then took a run at it and barely made it through. My voice is straining to hit those high notes for sure.  Then I thought I would have fun with it and add vocal harmonies so I recorded additional vocals 3 more times and combined them all.

Vocal are pitchy and harmonies sometimes out of sync but I thought it was an OK effort for just learning the song and spending about one hour putting it together.  See what you think:

Note: I also corrected the chords on Chordie to match the chords given in "The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook"
This is the best songbook I have ever found for correct chords.

Hi Russell, Thanks for asking!
I have a 15 song CD coming out soon of all original songs performed solo acoustic and someimes with harmonica.
My method is very much to play and record in the moment so these are real "live" in studio performances using just one mic to capture it.  Then if I feel the need I will overdub additional vocals for harmony using the live recording.

You can hear all the songs posted on My Space at:

or if you prefer to see the actual performance being recorded they are on video at:
