Late to the "party" (as it were), but since I haven't been here as much lately (dealing with my own health issue, but that's a story for another day - I'm okay, though…), I'm just now seeing this (and trying to include as many parentheticals as l can).
Sending good juju to you and your Dondra, knowing that that isn't enough (but lacking the ability to do more), but sending it nonetheless…

Back after an absence.
To clarify:
I, myself, was not planning on using any expletives in my contribution (though I most certainly reserve the right to do so!), nor do or did I think that any other contributor was going to submit an expletive-laden song. However, I would also never deign to tell any artist what they can or cannot include in their art.
(On a personal note, I find it very sad that some potential contributors would even consider quashing free speech in any way, considering what I understand to be the average age of participants How different would this song be, I wonder? )
I also despair of the reaction by some in thinking that the inclusion of a simple sentence
Contributors will be responsible for their own content, regarding "adult material" warning.
would throw the floodgates would open, leading to a deluge of profanity-laden submissions. Had I not included it, I doubt anyone would have noticed or even cared. And here I thought I was being pro-active. Ah, well. As I said, so very sad.
Also, since this endeavour would be hosted on someone's Bandcamp account (or summat), it would not be connected to Chordie in any way other than by name, and would not fall under any guidelines other than Bandcamp's, and they have no such restrictions or limitations or censoring (at least none that I am aware of.).
That said, considering the possibility of censorship of anyone's art (whether by intent or by deed), I will not be participating in this project in any capacity going forward. And as I said previously, no hard feelings. Good luck with the project.
Edited to add: Since I am withdrawing from this effort, I will also be withdrawing from this thread - if anyone wishes to continue a discussion (though I think my position's pretty clear, y'know?), you can email me, and I will try to return communication next week after I get out of hospital (going in for a spinal procedure on Weds.).

This.
"Preview" is your friend.
Always.

Tell ya what. I could probably part with it for $500 and shipping to the West Coast will run around $1500.
That sounds a little steep, but okay - what the heck.
You will take a third-party, post-dated, out-of-state check, right?
.
I saw someone's comment about "adult content" and winced. For the broadest possible appeal, perhaps we could agree to make our collective content accessible to all potential listeners, i.e., no "McLean & McLean" type of content.
I have no idea who "McLean & McLean" are, but when I wrote that contributors are responsible for their own content, I meant just that. I think we're all adults here.
If there's going to be any censoring of material in any way, shape or form, include me out. No hard feelings.
.
I am looking for reasons not to contribute, I agree with MKM about what charities are considered. i am on the fence some one push me off one way or the other

My suggestion for any charitable donations (if any): Doctors Without Borders Note: I repeat, this is only my suggestion.
Failing a concensus on a donation recipient, I suggest we split the gate equally between contributors.

Last bump.
Any takers beside BGD & me?

Maybe instead of travelling the long distance, you could just strap on the ol' Strat, turn on the amp, plug the cord into the amp, and then - just before you plug in the guitar - give the plug a good lick
Ha!!
Nicely nicely.
Personally I prefer the other definition. Heh.
Hahaha! Doug, I like the "woman police constable" interpretation!
All righty - as promised, the FP/C(wpc!) story:
While I was waiting for someone to bring my V-Amp2 up from the back (I'd put a deposit on it a coupla days beforehand), there was a fella also standing at the counter with his girlfriend/wife and a buncha equipment that he was selling to Guitar Center- among other things, a Boss ME-80 in a case, which he had sitting on top of the counter. I remarked that the ME-80 was way cool, but way out of my price range and way above my playing ability.
Somehow, the conversation turned to the case, and I said, "Say, can I have it?" To which he replied, "Sure, why not?" -- the store wasn't buying it off him.
"Really - for keeps?"
"Sure."
"Wow - cool. For free?"
"Yeah, sure - that way I don't hafta worry about dragging it home."
"Gee - thanks!"
Well, as things went on, he included a 6-output power center which was already screwed into the case!
So, in addition to the effect that I purchased, I went home with a
Free Pedalbox/Case (with power center! [and power cord, I might add!])
.
Oh, Man- I would LOVE to have me an autoharp, and would LOVE to learn to play it.
I absolutely adore their sound and they have such a great look and if anyone is getting rid of one or if anyone knows anyone getting rid of one or anyone (or anyone that that anyone might know) is even THINKING of getting rid of one please let me know mmmk???
.
I knew what wntma meant before I clicked the link to this thread. LOL. Great minds. Nice buy!
Heh. Thanks.
Also: Gotcha, Bill. It's all a-ok.
Also also: Plugged in the power, plugged into my Tele, plugged in headphones and started monkeying around with this V-Amp2 thing...
First Impression: The effects alone make this more than worth what I paid for it: tremolo, echo, delay, chorus, auto-wah, flange, compression, etc., and several combinations of them - chorus + delay, etc., are totally bitchin' from what I can tell.
Then you add the amp modelling - Orange, Vox, Fender emulations and others… well, sir, I'm happier'n a pig in mud with this thing, and absolutely recommend it even without knowing thngs like how to combine amp + effect and store it for later recall...
.
Oh, no no no no no no no, Bill - that video ain't me - it's just a review someone did.
I mean, I just picked the thing up today, it'd be pretty amazing for me to set up, make, edit, and post a review already, yeah? (Though if you were to ask Mrs. C42, I think she'd agree with the "amazing' bit ifyaknowwhutimean...)
.
Dino, I'll disagree and say that the percentage of Chordists (Chordites? Chordians? Chordiers?) are familiar with Uncle Jerry
Happy New(well, new to me, anyway) Effect Day!
(Please excuse the enormity of the photo - at least until I learn how to re-size 'em in this format…)

Picked it up used at Guitar Center for $39.95… come on - how could I NOT buy it at that price? Included footswitch & carry-bag (just as pictured, actually, but that's not my photo), too.
Here is a 20-minute youtube review, but really, all's you gotta know is that it does a whole buncha sheaut for cheap escpecially for what I paid for it.
So, happy N(wntma)ED to me!
Also, I will add the FP/C(wpc!) story later - it's just as good - maybe BETTER!!
"
any one else ever work on two more songs simultaneously? .
Alla time, man. alla time. In fact, it's rare if don't
.
Try Googling the Artist and Song Name, as there a couple places where this comes up. I had a quick peek but wasn't comfortable with what I found. Forgive me for being prudish, but I'd rather not pass along what I found.
Sorry, Funster, but I fail to see what's so bad about this - it's just a guy singin'... ? Perhaps you went to a different video than the one "nickname47" referred to: Ciara - Body Party (Rendition) by SoMo though I think the account may have been created to pimp the video.
SoMo seems to be a dude who's getting youtube heat singing covers. I could be wrong.
P.S. - didjoo happen to see this the other day on TSN dot com? The history of teams' logos in gif form... awesome...
