One thing that slowed down my GAS was that I'm running out of room along my bedroom wall and I don't was to put them in other rooms where they'll be ignored and neglected. I've got five stands, four in corners where they can't fall and one safely in a chair. Do they make a rack that holds ten or more?

First year, people smile and nod. Second year you feel pretty good about yourself. Third year, people ask you to bring your guitar with you.

I don't know how that applies to me. I played from the time I was 12 until I was in my late twenties or early thirties. Work, marriage and children pushed my time away until I lost interest. I bought my first new one in decades this year after my sixtieth birthday and am ramping up. But I'm developing finger strength, toughness and just getting them to jump into place when I see a chord designation. It comes back.

Unfortunately I was the never the kind of person to keep up with everything and I wasn't really aware of Warren while he was alive. I'd heard many of his songs but never really put together the concept that here was a great and interesting artist. That's definitely my loss and many others.

I hit 60 in January. Started playing at 12 or 13. When I was 12 the Beatles were an exciting new group and many things were changing. Sometime in the 80s my guitar started spending more time in the closet than not as I worked a lot of overtime and my kids were growing up. I also suspect the Disco era had something to do with it. Bought a new one this spring (and have since bought two more). As my surgically rebuilt hand recovers I expect to spend more and more time with it. This site is showing me some of the little pieces of songs that I once knew.

I restarted my hobby in April after 25 years away from it and have picked up my third guitar since. I am considering a couple more just for contrast.

I'm in a fair sized house a decent distance from any neighbors and there's nobody home except my nephew (who also like to play) and for some reason I have yet to push to amp more than halfway with the guitar volume set at 3 or 4. There must be something wrong with me.

Just discovered this site today. I played guitar from the time I was 12 til I was in my 30's. I kinda drifted away for a couple of decades. My life changed this winter when my wife had a massive stroke and died. As I have tried to restart my life I notice a Fender Acoustic on Amazon and began trying to make myself play again. I was able to do something after a bit and eventually my fingers toughened and I remembered some of the songs I once knew. I had my right wrist rebuilt this Summer so I had a lot of time on my hands. My youngest found a decent used electric S101 Standard with a Roland amplifier. I couldn't play it for several weeks because of my surgery but before I had enough wrist to strum I ran across a Fender Starcaster electric at a  Flea Market that looked like it needed me. I was able to make the necessary repairs and now have enough strength in my wrist to play and am using it as therapy. I really enjoy the song postings because even the simplest ones can put someone like me back on the track to remembering many of the songs I once knew.
