On the resources tab there's a link to http://www.chordie.com/addurl.php which indicates you can submit new content by providing a URL pointing to that content in chopro format. It just doesn't seem to work.

g'Day,

I'm rather new at this so it's mostly discovery and there have been some interesting ones. Being able to edit a song once you put it in your songbook is marvelous though what I also wanted was related material to be close as hand. Material like song performances, lessons, backing tracks, etc. What I found out was that not only can you edit the songs in your songbook you can code HTML in the song also. If you look at a number of the songs in my songbook you'll see that at the end of them I've added links to numerous places, mostly on YouTube, for lessons, performances, jams, etc. http://bit.ly/119SupK

Here's the template for the links

<ul>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">B) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">C) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">J) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">L) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">P) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">S) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">T) </a>
<li><a href="" target="_blank">Y) </a>
</ul>

g'Day,

Having exhausted all identifiable options for adding new content to Chordie and getting no response from numerous emails to support I've developed a work around for adding new content.

Just find a song with a title close to what you want to add, add it to your songbook, and then completely replace the content. When you edit the artist and title in the song it won't change how it's displayed in the songbook so you'll have to remember what it is really. You can update the content of the song for tab, lyrics and chords as needs be. I'm finding this to work quite well.

Roger, I've very new to all and looking for the definitive reference for ChordPro seems to be a bit less than obvious. The one that looks to be the most complete is the one at...

Though there also seems to be numerous references which differ in some ways from this.

Is Chordi still being maintained or is it a artifact?

I would also appreciate any insights you might have on

Roger,

What I'm really trying to do is figure out how to indicate that the 3rd, 4th & 5th string are to be played open and the other strings are not to be played. So is there a way to accomplish that? Those 3 strings played open should be the same form as an A played on the same strings on the 2nd fret - wouldn't it?

This format doesn't seem to be working {define: G 0 x 0 0 0 x x}

Any idea what I'm going wrong?

I just figured out if you put songs in your songbook and edit them you can do all kinds of nifty stuff with them! Awesome!

Is there any word on when this might get fixed. I think having links to YouTube videos of performaced embedded would be pretty neat!

If I submit a URL for a new song how long does it take for it to show up in the index if it's a file in the proper format with a .cho extension?
