No, I have not paid for the pickup.  I want to just walk into the store get my new guitar, make certain it is no second or factory flaw, check it out and leave.  It looks like they would want the pickup left in the guitar in order to sell it...don't know.

I had a new BR 160 Blueridge guitar and took it to the local music store, purchased a M1 active Pickup and wanted the store to install it, so they agreed to do it for $35.00.  I was called by the store to come pick up my guitar they informed me it was finished.

So, after I arrive and began looking at the guitar at the bottom where the pin was and the jack installed it was torn loose and a gouge was in my guitar.  I was unhappy to say the least and was informed it was just one of those things that could happen during the installation.  The guitar is solid wood and the gouge happened taking out the pin.  If they saw it was not coming out why not drill the pin out, it's about a 1/4 pin?  This ruined my new guitar.

I showed my displeasure with the store owner and he agreed to replace the guitar with a new one from the factory.  This was after several minutes of arguing with him.  He wanted to fill it with wood putty and spray laqure over it.  NO....No... So he agreed to replace my guitar.  Now my question is this....They want to install this same pick up in the new guitar coming...Shame on you the first time shame on me the second, what do you think about this?

Please advise, Thanks Sonny

You know what, this makes me feel better.  I do not have my chord changes down as I would like, the feel of the song I have no problem with, this is all good news and now I feel I can keep on keeping on and not get so frustratyed, thanks again

I was told by a very good guitar player it really didn't matter about the stum in' pattern as long as you made chord changes when you should.  Now She plays good and hardly any stumming she did was a like, what does this mean?  Help me out here..

I have been playing about 9-10 months and I understand that I'm suppose to sound terrible, but this is getting old.  It seems I have a habit of strumming every song the same, sometimes it's ok and other times it is completely off beat or whatever.  I'm doing mostly Hank Williams's old tunes and I think that should not be as difficult as I try and make it, gettin' frustrated,
  Help me out, Sonny

I had 3 guitars all the same different makes but all cedar tops and all sounded alike.  I call the store and ask if they would be willing to make a trade, sure he said.  So, I take two guitars down and he looks at them and says he wanted to trade, asked what I wanted and how much I wanted to put down on a new guitar.  I replied I did not want to trade and then put money down, but wanted to trdae straight out.  We look around and I see this washburn guitar he has marked for 399.00, It's used not new.  Looks great and the sound is good, has a spruce top, different from my other two I want to trade.  So, we do the deal both my guitars and he throws in a case.  The guitars I traded were both nice and like new, One was a samick D9, cost me 257.00 and the other guitar was an old alveraze, 1985 like new with a hard case.  I bought for 150.00. plus this same store did a set up on it and charged me 60.00 about a month ago.
I get home and chech out my new guitar on the internet and you can purchase this washburn model D9K for 125.00 all day long.  Now I'm pissed but the guitar is an easy player and a nice looking guitar, should I complain to the store owner?  I feel like I need a square deal, feel ripped off... what do you think?

I 'm new with the guitar and have written in about so many things asking this and that, and all you guys have given me the same advise.  Just keep on prcaticing, you will get better.  I have asked about Chords, notes, picks, learning songs, strum'in and probably even more things.
You Ole' timmers has given great advise, Keep on practicing, you will get better.  I can now keep time with the music, make chord changes, know when to change, strum different patterns and even finger pick some, all from more practice.  I get on my guitar every day some times 3-4 times, if I'm sitting looking at it, I have to pick it up and get at it again.  I now have several songs I have learned and play without my book being at my side.  You are right, keep on practicing , you will get better.  Thanks guys!

I have been playing around with different picks and just discovered each produces a different sound.  I don't know why I find that strange, but now I'm on the search for the perfect pick for me.
I play a cedar solid wood top, dreadnaught, actually I have two with cedar tops, and both seem really loud.  I have tried to play soft but loose the feeling, doesn't seem natural.  I tried a rubber lick I play Ukulele with on nylon strings.  That pick really toned down the sound coming from the guitar, but the feel is not what I want.  It makes me slow down, like drags off the string in a pulling motion.  This is good in some ways as I can think about chords and strums and my voice is actualy louder than the guitar sound.  I need help finding a good pick.  I have some Palm wood picks ordered off e-bay, I'm hoping.  Need some advise, help!

Man, I am having trouble getting my strum'in down .  It seems I have the same action for every song, it's like a bad habit doing th same thing over and over.  I hate the sound of all down strokes, and I don't do that but, but my strum came naturally not trying to do either a up or down stroke, but kinda a roll, like a combination of down up and down.  It sounds good with some songs, but I feel it doesn't on others.  Do I have to do different stroke on different songs?  My stoke I either speed up or slow down to the beat or rythum.  I am new at playing, Oh ya, new at playing the guitar but I love doing it.  Any advise?

I have a song book with 3 chords in most songs.  I start off my practice session by trying to play each song as well as I can, them move to the next.  Should I stick with one song until; I have it down pat?  I would like to make the best of my time.  Thanks

Guys,  I have listened to all of your comments and taken them to heart.  It seems there is only one way to play music and  an unlimited way to make music.  I play the Native American Flute and if you play sheet music you have lost the real meaning of NDN music, from the heart.  I like picking up the flute and not know what will come out of my heart.  There are a million ways to make it sound good, but there is one way to make it sound like the Original CD.
You have answered my question and again thanks a million, and I will keep on playing,....and asking questions.

I'm having all kinds of problems with knowing when to change chourd.  I can't figure out if it's when the pich changes, when, where and why?  Can you tell by the sound of the melody what key the song is in?
Another problem Im having when I find song with the chourds layed out there seems to be a F#m or some other minor chourd.  Can one just stick with the I, IV, V, chourds and leave the others out and the song still sound right?  It seems like Willie and some other skilled guitarist want a chourd for every word...
Please need Help, BIG Time! Sonny

How is the best way to go about learning a song and then sing it?  Do you learn all the chords., lyrics then the chords.  This would be a song that you know already the melody? Please advise, Sonny

I have been racked by the 12 bar blues, 4 beats per measure, 4 measures to bar x 3. Yet when I listen to the old times country blues I don't hear the beats to a measure and all the chord changes that are marked in the 12 bars.  Thanks guys

I'm wondering, do you have to follow beats to a measure when you are playing alone?  Do you really need to count or remember 4 beats and so on or can yoy play the song as it sounds when originally was recoreded and start from the start do your own thing and end up at the end of the song.  I can understand why you would do this if several people are playing in order to know each persons part, but playing alone?  Please advise.

Guys, thanks for the good stuff.  I have just learned, Waltz across Texas, Ernest Tubb song, not perfect but I now can keep the rythum and no pauses between chords, feels great. I have played it a gillion times.  I guess I'm expecting too much from myself too soon, Thanks again, Sonny

I'm brand new with a brand new guitar.  I 'm trying to learn to play and sing.  I have learned some chords but can not get it to sound like I know the melody sounds in the original verson.  Ok, do I try to strum each word of the song?  Do I try to imatate the sound of each word with a chord? I cant seem to get the strumming with the words of it and all tied together to sound smooth.
